Hagi No Yado Tomoe is a charming historic Inn that provides a high standard of accommodation and customer service. The building is lovely with a stunning large zen garden. Our tatami room was spacious, clean and comfortable with separate entrance room and bedroom offering very comfortable western style beds. There were large windows offering lovely garden and river views. Inn staff were very helpful and prior to arriving our bus station pick-up was arranged and a Shrine tour for the next day, that was very enjoyable and informative. The Inn also provided good information for further self-planned exploration of wonderful Hagi and as the weather was very hot when there, drove us to a starting point for our self exploration. All information regarding the use of the on-site onsen was provided with lovely high quality products and requirements provided in the room. The traditional breakfasts were truly exceptional with a great deal of care and expertise involved in providing the best service and presentation possible and using amazing local produce. I highly recommend the Inn and would love to stay again.

loved our stay here! the room was sooo spacious, more than enough room for 2 people. we really felt like we were having a true japanese ryokan experience. everything in the room, from the tatami to the bathroom was so clean and comfortable. the staff was very welcoming and they even came to pick us up from the train station! the front desk helped us with suggestions for different restaurants and called to make reservations for us, they were very accommodating. the onsen was sooo beautiful and really made our stay just perfect. the japanese breakfast was included and it was truly a work of art, every bite was delicious and a feast for the senses. we enjoyed their complimentary coffee while viewing the japanese gardens off the reception area, so relaxing. overall it was just wonderful and we couldn't have asked for anything better. oh and the staff also took us back to the train station after we checked out! would definitely stay here again.

Very beautiful ryokan near the Hagi Castle Town with free parking. We booked a Japanese-style corner room for 3 nights and had a large garden to ourselves. The garden in the common area is also very beautiful esp at night. We opted for half board our entire stay and were very impressed with the food! The menu was different every time and we found ourselves anticipating what they’ll serve for the next meal. One of the meals they served was an all-puffer fish meal, which is arguably one of the best and most unforgettable meals of my life. The staff were also very warm and helpful up until the very moment we left. Definitely worth making the trip to Hagi just to stay here.

Very authentic ryokan experience by the River. Good location near bus station. Room was clean , well appointed and spacious. The natural spring onsen was a real treat. The breakfast and special dinner was excellent and varied with many courses and beautifully served. The staff was very kind and helpful

This was my first experience with a ryokan and I was amazed. The care with which you are treated will spoil you. The food was exceptional. The in room dinner dining was lovely, particularly since you can gaze out at the serene garden between courses. The Onsen experience was very relaxing.
